'Spring' was discovered on a country farm, home to many animals... the trailer that is. So the first step has been to remove all the interior. The old paint is lead based, so we made the decision to strip it with plans to experiement with new wall treatments. The silver paint on the toungue and bumper also were caked in toxic 1960's chipping auto paint so we removed it and any miscellanious metal and painted it black.

'Baby' was adopted on a whim from an ocean front view. She had a light remodel already completed and is slated to be restored in the near future. This is our trailer for tiny people, so the interiors will likely be reworked to make ample room for two.

'Flor'is the first Airstream Hoeksema purchased. She was touring extensively with her book signing and music gigs while cleaning her up, so the efforts thus far have been 'piece meal'. The front and back interiors were removed and the subfloor was cleaned up with cork and washable/removable shag carpet features replacing the old toxic carpet. A couple years late, Hoeksema personally crafted, with a Japanese hand saw, a soy based plywood wrap around convertable bench/ bed/ desk/ storage feature.

'Rocky' came to us half disassembled, with no interio walls or floor in tact. We've stabilized him by installing a partial subfloor, replacing window panes and a skylight, replacing the jack, and washing down the disassembled parts for future installation. He is serving us well as a messy little museum, storing our trailer artifacts.

'Cielo' is our bastard child. He is an Avion actually, not an Airstream. This was Hoeksema's second vintage trailer. She primarily purchased it for touring, to get a better understanding of the pros and cons of Avions versus Airstream. Being able to compare the two has extensively informed her view on how Airstreams should be engineered. The material used vary as well which make a difference in chemical toxicity out gassing and mold resistance.
