Ms. Hoeksema was the architect and project manager for the auditorium of the Harris Music and Dance Theater built in Chicago's Millennium Park. The acoustical clouds and towers were built of steel with plywood shells, providing flexibility for lighting and sound for the various types of performance theater hosted by this city-central venue. The orchestra pit was only 2' above the park's water table, resulting in a potential buoyancy effect instead of the traditional force or gravity determining the engineering requirements.
