This new 'eco' friendly gallery was generated by the owner's interest in showing work that tells a story. The art products were created within their localities: mittens shown in the gallery were woven in the same place the sheep were sheered; one of a kind hand bags are sewn by local seamstresses. The new articulation by Hoeksema included extensive use of environmentally 'intelligent' strategies increasing building valuation through reorganization of the linear gallery concept into three metaphors of Nature: Field, Garden, and Grove.
